LSI I +61 303 is one of only three high-mass X-ray binaries detected in very high energy gamma rays. Observations were made over several orbital cycles (September, 2006 to February, 2007) with the VERITAS array of four 12m aperture atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes. The source was detected at energies above 300 GeV with a statistical significance of 8.4 sigma. The flux is highly variable with maximum flux close to apastron. The maximum flux corresponds to 15-20% of the flux of the Crab Nebula at these energies.
