We report the first conclusive detection of light echos from the supernova outburst responsible for the Cas A supernova remnant, as well as the possible detection of light echos from SN 1572 (Tycho's Supernova). These detections resulted from a systematic survey for historical galactic supernova light echo systems following the discovery of four such systems in the Large Magellanic Cloud. Difference images from the KPNO 4m Mosaic camera taken in October and December 2006 reveal a rich set of light echo features with apparent proper motion vectors consistent with origins coincident with the Cas A and SN1572 remnants.Detections from our 2007B observations will also be reported.
