Helioseismology is the study of the Sun through properties of solar oscillations. Helioseismic techniques allow us to probe the interior of the Sun with very high precision, and in the process test the physical inputs to stellar models. This article gives a brief introduction to the theory of solar oscillations and helioseismic inversion techniques to determine solar structure.
