The effects of photospheric granulation on absorption lines in the spectra of K-dwarfs are resolved using ultra high resolution observations made with the 2dcoude spectrograph at McDonald Observatory, combined with data from the Hobby-Eberly Telescope. The line asymmetries and wavelength shifts are then compared with theoretical line profiles calculated using a state-of-the-art three-dimensional radiative-hydrodynamical model atmosphere for a star with parameters: Teff=4830 K, log g=4.50, and [Fe/H]=0. We find remarkable agreement between the predictions of the model and our observations. The impact of 3D effects on classical 1D-LTE abundance determinations in K-dwarfs is explored.
