The circumstellar disks of Be stars probably form due to a combination of rapid rotation and nonradial pulsations, but the mechanism is not well understood. To study disk formation in Be stars, it is helpful to identify populations with frequent disk outbursts. NGC 3766 contains a particularly variable population of Be stars, and we recently observed disk appearances and/or disappearances among 11 of its 16 Be stars. Here we present results from a spectroscopic monitoring campaign of additional southern open clusters. The rate of disk variability does not seem to be constant among clusters, and we investigate the stellar and cluster properties that may influence Be star disk formation.
