We consider possible physical influences on the width of narrow emission lines of AGN including the gravitational effect of the black hole. In particular we use composite spectra created from Sloan Digital Sky Survey AGN spectra to study the systematics of [Ne V] and lower ionization emission lines as a function of AGN luminosity and black hole mass.
