We present a complete catalog of gamma-ray burst (GRB) afterglow observations conducted by the automated Palomar 60-inch telescope (P60). Using the sample, we can for the first time meaningfully compare optical afterglows in the Swift era to those from previous GRB satellites. By cross-correlating our optical observations with X-ray data from the Swift X-ray telescope, we investigate the geometry, energetics, and environments of the Swift sample as a whole. Like previous studies, we find many cases of achromatic breaks that are difficult to reconcile with the standard fireball model for GRBs. However, unlike other authors, we find several examples of chromatic breaks that could well be due to a jet opening angle. Finally, we present evidence for a new emerging class of hyper-energetic events (E > 10^52 erg) that begin to challenge the standard paradigm of massive star progenitors.
