Already nearly half a century ago, we have been interested by the orientation of the orbital planes of the double stars in space. The results of a first research based on radial velocities collected for some 70 visual orbital binaries were published in 1968. It showed a particular organisation of this planes and especially some co-planarity of the systems around the Sun including the solar system. Twenty years later a similar research was made and the results based on 145 orbital binaries were published in 1988, confirming the previous one. An historical sketch of the researches made on this subject since the one of MADLER in 1833 has been published in Ciel et Terre (J. Dommanget 2005a). Today, after another twenty years, a third research is under way, inside the Commission des Etoiles Doubles of the Société Astronomique de France with the hope to confirm again and to improve the previous results. The present paper should serve as a guide for this new research based on our personal experience. Especially concerning the various problems encountered when using the radial velocity observations for recognizing the real orbital plane of a binary between the two possible ones and thus the location of its real orbital pole.
