The Murchison Widefield Array (MWA) is a new radio telescope under construction in the outback of Western Australia. It will operate between 80 and 300 MHz, and will enable research on the epoch of reionization, the transient radio sky, and on solar, heliospheric and ionospheric phenomena. 32 of the eventual 512 antenna tiles have been deployed, and testing of the end-to-end MWA system is in progress. Completion of the array is anticipated in about one year. The status of the development will be reported, and preliminary results presented.
