A new map at 408 MHz made with the Molonglo Cross shows that the radio source G9.8+0.6 has a broken shell structure and a non-thermal spectral index. These facts, together with the proximity of the source to the galactic equator, indicate that it is a previously unrecognized galactic supernova remnant. The remnant is an example of a shell which is much brighter on the side towards the galactic plane. The author estimates its distance, size and age from its measured radio parameters.
