From three nights of uvby-observations of 51 Nemausa in September 1994, covering solar phase angle 0.64° to 1.37°, the phase factor as a function of rotational phase was determined to vary in the range 0.05 to 0.13mag/deg. The large values are due to the opposition effect. An ephemeris for physical observations facilitated the reductions and allowed a certain identification of minor details with the 1983 and 1990 lightcurves. The difficulties connected with the development of lightcurves in Fourier series are discussed. The advantage of a statistical analysis in terms of uncorrelated normal points is demonstrated.
