Spectroscopic observations with the 6-m telescope of the four prominent
central knots in the southern dwarf galaxy DDO 161 indicate that they
represent ordinary associations of hot stars and gas with relative
velocities of about 20 km/sec. The mass/luminosity ratio for DDO 161 is
in the range 1-6 (solar masses/solar luminosities).
