The discovery of a Seyfert galaxy in interaction with other galaxies in the triple NGC 7212 is reported. The system was found on an exploratory IIIa-J plate taken of a 4-deg objective-prism spectrogram obtained at the 61-91 Burrell Schmidt telescope. The spectrum of the bright, semistellar nucleus is observed to show extremely intense forbidden O III 5007 and 4959 A emission, weak H beta and no apparent continuum, leading to its classification as a type 2 Seyfert galaxy. Both the 5007-A and 4959-A forbidden O III line profiles, with linewidths between 6 and 9 A, are found to be strongly asymmetric such that the centroid of the emission is to the red of the peak. Such asymmetries may be taken as an indication of the radial motion of emitting matter in or near the nucleus, possibly connected with tidal flow induced by the mutual interaction of the galaxies.
