A spectrograph and image tube with 4200-7400 A-range dispersions of 92 and 45 A/mm, respectively, were used in obtaining spectrophotometry of the Seyfert galaxy Markaryan 1066, leading to the identification of 60 lines of different elements. Forbidden iron emission lines in states of ionization from Fe II to Fe X are found to be most abundant among the weak lines, and the intensities and widths of the bright forbidden lines are found to correspond to the mean values for type 2 Seyfert galaxies. H-beta fluxes and O III forbidden lines from Doroshenko and Terebizh (1979) were used to calculate the gas component parameters in the various regions of Markaryan 1066 and 744, as well as the luminosities and masses of the nuclei, yielding dense H II region gas masses for the two galaxies of 0.035 and 0.05 solar masses, respectively. It is suggested that the forbidden lines of other Seyfert 2 galaxies could have broad components.
