Scientific paper

This catalogue presents the apparent visual magnitudes and colors measured in the Geneva system of 1,077 nearby stars belonging to the 1969 edition of Gliese's catalogue. The program limiting magnitude is mv 11.0 or mpg 12.5. All parallaxes published since the Jenkins catalogue (1963) have been compiled and the stars are given with their trigonometric absolute magnitude and an up-to-date spectral classification.
