This review is concerned with advances in Cosmic-Ray Modulation observation and theory and in the study of the anomalous component of the cosmic radiation. It concentrates primarily on advances made in American research and reported in the open literature during the years 1979-1982. The author has broken down the bibliography into several categories making it a bit easier for the reader to concentrate on areas of special interest. A paper that bears on more than one of the categories is to be found under each category to which it relates.
