Observations of the umbral rotation motions of the leading spot of Hale AR 16 863 and the umbras of the main spots of 16 862 are presented. Substantial changes of the orientation of the geometrical axis of the umbra of the AR 16 863 was observed during May 22-24, 1980. The average angular velocity was -1.8 deg/hr. The axes of both main umbras of AR 16 862 also rotated after May 24, 1980. These spots were preferred locations of the umbral subflares. The onset times of umbral rotation coincided with the appearance of new sunspots observed in the vicinity of the studied spots.
