The old LMC globular cluster NGC 2257 is studied by means of the photographic photometry measurements of RICHFLD, a novel image-processing technique which reduces crowding effects. A color-magnitude diagram of a 95 x 95 arcsec region in the cluster is presented. With the adoption of an unreddened distance modulus of 18.5, and color excess of 0.08, it is determined that the cluster has properties very similar to those of M92 and M15, although a problem remains with respect to the giant branch and its photometry. Using the Fe/H concentration of -2 obtained from spectroscopic and photoelectric studies, as well as two sets of isochrones, an age equal to those of the oldest Galactic globular clusters is found for NGC 2257.
