New searches have been made for variable stars in the region of the globular clusters NGC 5927, 5946, and 6144. No. new variables were found in NGC 5927, which appears to contain only slow, red variables. Four new variables were found within the tidal radius of NGC 5946, of which one and possibly a second are RR Lyrae types. One of the previously known variables is also of this type. In addition, seven new field variables were found in the outskirts of NGC 5946. In the region of NGC 6144, one new slow variable was discovered; the previously known variable is probably of RR Lyrae type, but is probably not a cluster member.
