Inverse Compton scattering in an intense magnetic field is discussed. Using the standard technique in quantum electrodynamics, the solution of Dirac's equation for the electron in a uniform magnetic field, and the exact propagator of electrons in a magnetic field, the scattering matrix elements transition probabilities in coordinate representations are calculated. General formulas for the photon energy spectrum and the differential and total scattering cross sections are derived. The results provide a basis for application to the question of the emission mechanism in pulsars.
