The precise positions, relative to the Perth 70 Catalog, are presented for the optical counterparts of 22 radio/optical astrometric sources south of delta approximately plus 2. These astrometric sources are included in the IAU Commission 24 preliminary list of candidates to be used as benchmark radio sources in the establishment of an inertial reference frame. Results show accuracy levels of approximately 0.2 sec in both coordinates.
