New VBLUE photometry of the high-latitude, long-period ecliping system BL Tel made in the years 1966-68 and 1976-78, including three eclipses of varying completeness, is discussed. The observations and reductions, the period of the orbital revolution, the light and color curves of the F-type pulsating companion, and the light and color variations during the eclipses are discussed. The deepness differences of the light curves at mid-eclipse and the color variations during the course of the eclipses are often larger than the light and color curves of the pulsation, respectively. The influence of the supergiant companion on the light and color variations for the observed eclipses of 1962, 1966, and 1968 was eliminated. At attempt is made to qualitatively explain the observed color variations through the absorbing power of relatively cool gas streams showing an asymmetric streaming pattern.
