The characteristics of an inhomogeneous ellipsoidal bar are investigated and the results are compared with previous studies of bar potentials. The bar potential utilized in this study allows 1:1 direct orbits within the corotation. It is suggested that, for barred galaxies with a ring, the observable bar may extend to the inner Lindblad resonance and between the two inner Lindblad resonance it may extend to the ring forms.
