We present detailed numerical simulations of the propagation of nucleons above 1019 eV in the Local Supercluster, assuming that the ambient magnetic field is turbulent and its strength 0.01 muG <= B_rms <= 1 muG. In such strong magnetic fields, protons in the low energy part of the spectrum diffuse, while the higher energy particles propagate along nearly straight lines. Our numerical treatment improves substantially over previous analytical approximations, as it allows to treat carefully the transition between the two propagation regimes, as well as the effect of the geometry. We find that a magnetic field close to equipartition, B_rms~0.1 muG, could reproduce exactly the solid angle integrated observed spectrum of UHECRs for a distance to the source d <= 10 Mpc. It might also explain why no astrophysical counterpart could be associated to the highest energy events, as the deflection at E ~= 100 EeV is ~10^circ.
