A standalone search engine is described along with a database of ion-molecule kinetics. The engine is available for either Macintosh computers or IBM/PC computers. The engine will search a supplied data base of ion-molecule kinetics data for two body reactions and positive ions. The data base includes data found in: V.G. Anicich and W.T. Huntress, Jr., Ap. J. Supplement Series, 62, 553 (1986), V.G. Anicich, Ap. J. Supplement Series, 84, 215 (1993), V.G. Anicich, J. Phys. and Chem. Ref. Data, 22, 1469 (1993), and Y. Ikezoe, S. Matsuoka, M. Takebe, and A. Viggiano, "Gas Phase Ion-Molecule Reactions Rate Constants Through 1986," (Maruzen Comp, Ltd., Tokyo, 1987). Currently that data base has over 10,600 reaction entries and uses over 1000 referenced citations. Searches of the data base can be by either reactants or products and either ions or neutrals. Narrowing searches can be made on up to three specifications. Reports the searches are either viewed on the screen or printed. The reports also include the short list of references cited.
