Large-Scale Universe, Cosmic Microwave Background

The contradiction between observed fractal structure of the large-scale universe and the high-order uniformity of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation could be resolved using the Bak-Paczuski cosmological scenario assuming strong turbulent intermittency of the primordial plasma at the cosmological decoupling transition. Large-scale multiscaling of the dissipation (vorticity) field related to this intermittency implies analogous large-scale multiscaling of the space fluctuations of the CMB radiation. To check this prediction we calculated a full-sky dissipation field of the large-scale CMB fluctuations using the four-year COBE satellite data and found remarkable quantitative correspondence between multiscaling of the large-scale CMB dissipation field and the universal multiscaling of the kinetic energy dissipation (vorticity) field in fluid turbulence. This observation supports the Bak-Paczuski cosmological scenario of formation of the distribution of luminous matter in the large-scale universe after the decoupling transition.
