The origin of the highest energy cosmic rays (UHECRs, E ≥ 1019 eV) remains a mystery. The Pierre Auger experiment will collect an unprecendented statistics at those energies, and therefore allow to detect potential sources. We discuss the influence of extragalactic magnetic fields, which are still poorly known, on the propagation of UHECRs and show that they can lead to substantial deflections and even changes in the spectrum shape if there are heavy nuclei.
