An analysis of external errors in the recently published 6 m binary galaxy sample of Karachentsev (1972) is carried out. Emission line redshifts are found to possess an uncertainty of 50 km/s when compared with accurate 21 cm data. Absorption line measures are found to be considerably less accurate with a mean deviation of 125 km/s based on a smaller comparison sample of redshifts from other sources where sigma is less than or equal to 60 km/s. The resultant uncertainties of redshift differentials for binaries with separations are found to be about three times higher than previously stated by Karachentsev. Data on 94 of 165 mixed pairs of spiral and elliptical galaxies are studied in a test of the redshift-morphology correlations previously reported in the literature. Spiral galaxy components of mixed pairs are found to have a statistically significant higher mean redshift (+100 km/s) than their nonspiral partners.
