Parallaxes, mass ratios having small fractional errors, and masses with large fractional errors for distant pairs, are determined for the visual binaries mu Ori, Sigma 3121, A 570, Sigma 2398, and Ho 296 from a 60-year Sproul plate series totaling 700 nights of observation. Ho 296 serves as a test of the Sproul refractor's ability to detect a long-period, low-amplitude orbit comparable to the perturbation of a nearby star by a planetary companion. The masses for Sigma 2398 are expected to carry formal errors of only 2% and 3% when the relative orbit becomes accurately known, and upper limits for dark companions to its components are found to be at the level of one to several Jupiter masses for periods ranging from a few years to several decades.
