A simple double temperature model has been developed to study the effects of stellar spots on the apparent magnitude, colour and the apparent lithium abundance of active stars. Under realistic values for the filling factors, spots can yield a sizable change of the apparent magnitudes (~±0.2 magnitude in V band), colours (~ -0.10 in B-V) and the equivalent widths of Li I 6708Å line (-0.2-0.3dex). In comparison with inactive normal stars with the same effective temperature, in general, the active stars covered by spots are more blue in B-V colours and their equivalent widths of Li I 6708Å line become narrower. According to the observed light curve amplitude, the changes of filling factor of visible disk resulted from rotation ?Fs are estimated to be several per cent per -0.20. The maximum change cannot exceed 0.30.
