A simple theory of the precession and nutation of Venus is constructed, referred to the inertial system defined by the ecliptic and dynamical equinox of J 2000.0. Using the recently published dynamical parameters, a precession rate of -7828.6144 arcsec/cy is found, corresponding to a period of 16,555 yr. Arguments, amplitudes, and periods of the long-term nutations; short-term nutations; the adopted value of the dynamical oblateness; and the mean obliquity are discussed and the results given in tables.
