H-alpha observations obtained during the 1977 coordinated campaign on Cyg X-1 are presented. Photographic and reticon data were corrected for the primary-star photospheric absorption-line profile and combined in five phase bins to increase the signal-to-noise ratio. The remaining emission profile differs from that observed in 1974, showing a broad, double-peaked structure at all phases, with a central absorption feature which changes systematically with phase. The emission appears to be associated largely, but not entirely, with the optical primary and is very similar to the H-alpha emission in the similar binary HD 152667 = V861 Sco.
