Λ Bootis Stars, Circumstellar Discs, Hydrogen Lines
Scientific paper
We present ISO SWS spectra for the two λ Bootis stars HD 125162 (λ Boo) and HD 192640 (29 Cyg). A comparison with ATLAS9 atmospheric models using HIPPARCOS distances reveals that the absolute flux calibration is very good. A comparison between synthetic spectra and observation allows us to identify several H i-lines, mainly the Pfund-series. From the absence of any emission signature and from a detailed comparison of the equivalent widths we conclude that the H i-lines are of pure stellar origin. We note the presence of an unknown absorption feature around 3.5 μm present in both overlapping orders of the spectrograph.
