Effective collision strengths for transitions among 26 LS-coupled states of the (1s2) 2s2 2p2, 2s2p3, 2p4, 2s2 2p 3s, 2s2 2p 3p, and 2s2 2p 3d configurations of O III are reported in a wide electron temperature range of 2500-200,000 K. Collision strengths for these transitions have been computed at energies below 13.1 Ry in a fine mesh of energy elucidating resonances using the standard and no-exchange R-matrix programs for L = 12 or less and L greater than 12 and equal to 40 or less, respectively. For transitions involving the states of (1s2 2s2 2p)3s, 3p and 3d configurations the results are reported for the first time. However, for the rest of the transitions comparisons are made with the earlier available values of effective collision strengths, differences are discussed and accuracy is assessed.
