Infrared and optical light curves of the cataclysmic variables UX UMa
and U Gem are presented. The curves for Ux UMa can be well fitted by the
eclipse of an optically thick steady-state accretion disc. In U Gem the
infrared curves are dominated by ellipsoidal variations of the secondary
star.
