Spectra are obtained of 19 of the ultraviolet-excess objects discovered on two-color plates by Lanning (1973), and at least two interesting objects for further study are found. Lanning 10 exhibits broad Balmer and He II 4686 A emission, and is probably a previously unnoted cataclysmic variable. Lanning 33 (= LSV + 27 deg 23) is an early B-type shell star, with strong, narrow Balmer emission, as well as prominent Fe II emission lines. Both objects exhibit spectral variability.
