We present results of experiments designed to learn about the formation of molecular hydrogen in Titan's atmosphere. In the experiments, neutral beams of hydrogen and deuterium atoms impinge on a tholin film kept in a ultra-high vacuum chamber. The products of reaction are measured as a function of sample temperature, and the chemical and physical state of tholins is monitored in-situ (using infrared spectrometry) and ex-situ (using atom force microscopy). From the analysis of data, we obtain the energetics as well as the mechanisms of the reaction.
