The article reviews the topic of multiplicity and light-time effect in short-period eclipsing binaries. Other possible interpretations of the cyclic periodic changes are discussed. Case studies of several known or probable eclipsing binaries with light-time effect are given. Other effects and clues to the multiple components in eclipsing binaries are reviewed.
