We analyse the pulsation spectrum of the high-amplitude DAV star EC 14012-1446 derived from two observing runs. We detect seven pulsation frequencies that we suggest to be consecutive radial overtones of ℓ=1 modes. The mean period spacing of the eigenmodes (53.8 ± 2.3 s) implies a mass of 0.48 ± 0.03 Msun, inconsistent with spectroscopic log g determinations.
Our mode identification is corroborated by an analysis of the combination frequencies. Several of the eigenmodes seem to be part of rotationally split multiplets (Δ ν =10.2 ± 0.2 μHz), with the exception of one doublet whose splitting is only 6.3 μHz. However, we have no reason to believe that this mode is ℓ=1 and the others are ℓ=2 and speculate it may be a trapped mode.
