We present a study of 40 hot DA white dwarfs observed with the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE). We measured the effective temperatures and surface gravities using a grid of pure-hydrogen model atmospheres in local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE). Systematic differences with similar measurements based on Balmer line spectroscopy are in part due to non-LTE departure in the hydrogen atom, but for the most part they are due to the presence of heavy-elements in many white dwarf atmospheres throughout the range of effective temperatures covered in our sample.
