In this work we determined the mass of DA white dwarf stars extracted from the Sloan Digital Sky Surveu First Data Release. The masses were calculated using the evolutionary models of Wood (1995). We show that the cooler stars (Teff ⪉ 12000 K ) in the sample have systematically larger log g. We found a mean mass of (0.580 ± 0.004) Msun for 1174 DAs with Teff ≥ 12000 K.
