We present preliminary results of our multi-wavelength photometry and optical spectroscopy of two H II regions RCW 27 and RCW 33 in the Vela Molecular Ridge at a distance of ˜1 kpc. Two T associations (Vela T1 and Vela T2) were previously identified in these regions (Pettersson & Reipurth 1994). We use fX/fbol ratios, locations in color-magnitude diagrams, and lithium abundances to identify pre-main sequence (PMS) stars. From color magnitude diagrams, we estimate a mean age of these PMS stars to be ˜ 5 Myr using isochrones from Siess et al. (2000). We note that age spread in a range of <1 - 10 Myr is seen in color magnitude diagrams. Circumstellar disk fractions of these two regions are estimated using near-IR excesses from our and 2MASS JHK photometry. We compare our results with published results of other star forming regions under various environments: other T associations, group of young stars associated with isolated clouds, young clusters, and OB associations. This study is a part of our program to probe star formation under various environments.
