The Internal Luminosity Function (ILF) is the distribution of luminosity within a gamma-ray burst (GRB) and is thus an intrinsic burst property. The ILF of BATSE GRBs has been calculated previously using 4-channel 64 ms data. The ILF correlates with a variety of other GRB attributes, making it a potentially interesting attribute to study. It has also been found that the ILFs of Short (T90 < 1.4 s) and Long (T90 > 1.4 s) GRBs are systematically different. Using Short GRB data and simulations, we examine the hypothesis that at least some of this difference results because the 64 ms data provides insufficient temporal resolution for accurate measurements of Short GRB ILFs. This work is funded by NSF grant AST00-98499.
