The Hubble Heritage Project presents a mosaic of the Sombrero Galaxy to celebrate Heritage's fifth anniversary. The image comprises data taken from the Advanced Camera for Surveys and represents one of the largest mosaics obtained with the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). The images demonstrate the exquisite nature of the galaxy with its thick, dusty spiral arms, the enormous halo and the rich cluster system. The data obtained in B, V and r are available to the science community and the public through the HST archive. Since its inception in 1998, the Heritage Project has produced more than 65 images of dazzling celestial objects released on the first Thursday of every month through.
