The possible role of nonperturbative effects due to instantons on the neutron matter-quark matter phase transition, which is assumed to be of first order, is investigated. It is found that the effect of instantons is to shift the transition pressure from 5.6 x 10 to the 36 dynes/sq cm to 5.4 x 10 to the 36 dynes/sq cm. The relevance of the present results to neutron stars is discussed.
