Similarity solutions describing the flow of a perfect gas behind a
cylindrical shock wave transverse magnetic field are investigated in an
inhomogeneous medium. The motion of the gas is assumed to be adiabatic
and the total wave energy remains constant. The variations of the
density and the shock front are determined.
