New OH detection are presented for two infrared galaxies IRAS 1224-0036 (= NGC 4418) and IRAS 1201+1941, respectively the nearest (d = 29 Mpc) and the farthest (d = 620 Mpc) megamaser galaxies known. It appears that the megamaser phenomenon takes place in IRAS galaxies ranging from "dwarf" megamaser characterized by relatively low IR and OH luminosities (LIR ≈ 1011L_sun; und LOH ≈ 1 L_sun; with prototype NGC 4418) to "giant" megamaser (LIR ≈ 3×1012L_sun; and LOH ≈ 103L_sun;). There is a good correlation between OH and IR luminosities (LOH proportional to LIR2) which holds over three orders of magnitude in LOH; thus the pumping efficiency increases systematically by about a factor of 100 when going from "dwarf" to "giant" megamasers.
