Solutions of the equilibrium equations of self-gravitating differentially rotating gases with axial symmetry are presented. The procedure is used to calculate a family of differentially rotating polytropes with infinite central density and a polytropic index 3 < n < ∞, -∞ < n < -1. A continuous parameter of the solutions is the ratio β of the rotational velocity to the polytropic sound velocity in the mid-plane of the configurations. In the limit β → 0 the polytropic gas spheres with infinite central density are obtained, in the limit β → ∞ thin polytropic disks. Another family of solutions which is given, is specified by the assumption of a constant ratio β of the rotational velocity to the isothermal sound velocity all over the space. In the special case β2 = 2, the solutions are presented in closed form.
