We present high-resolution UV spectra of the dwarf Seyfert 1 nucleus of NGC 4395 (z = 0.0012), which we observed with HST/STIS and FUSE. We confirm the claim of intrinsic absorption lines based on FOS spectra. Absorption lines near the systemic velocity of NGC 4395 show a broad range in ionization (O I to C IV) and relatively high degree of saturation, and are likely due to the interstellar medium in the host galaxy. We have tentatively identified a C IV absorption component at a radial velocity of about -800 km/sec with respect to the Seyfert nucleus. We investigate the possibility that this component is associated with the X-ray warm absorber observed in this object. Alternatively, the absorption could be due to our Galactic halo at a radial velocity of about -400 km/sec. Further high-resolution spectra at higher signal-to-noise are need to confirm this absorption component and investigate its origin.
