Hourly data on the solar wind from the period July 1964 to December 1973 and data on the interplanetary magnetic field compiled for the period November 1963 to May 1974 are correlated with solar cycle variations. The solar wind data are obtained from a variety of satellite and rocket instruments. Plotted against the sunspot number, the solar wind and interplanetary magnetic field data do not reveal any pronounced dependence on the solar cycle; instead, monthly fluctuations in the solar wind and interplanetary magnetic field seem to mask the solar cycle variations.
